What is the tungsten carbide trim tool made from?
The loop of this trim tool is made from sintered tungsten carbide - a very dense and abrasion resistant material. It begins life as a powdered metal, which is first compressed into a mould. Once released from the mould, they are sintered in a modified atmosphere high temperature auto-clave which bonds the metal together. This hard wearing material doesn't wear away or lose an edge like a typical stainless steel carving tool.
The handle is made from aerospace grade aluminium and encased in non-slip shrink fit grip material that provides secure and confident handling.
Overall, this carefully designed handmade piece is a long lasting, reliable, superior trimming tool that will be a pleasure to use.

These tools were developed for accuracy and longevity, offering the potter a superior trimming experience.
